The First Amendment provides for the right of free speech, a free press, the free exercise of religion, the right to peacebly assemble and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
That according to Chicago Mayor and former Obama White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel thinks thats overrated.

“I used to tell President Clinton. When it comes to the American press, the First Amendment is highly overrated,” the mayor said, during an interview at the Bloomberg Business Summit lunch on the future of cities in the global economy.
Emanuel said the frenzied news coverage of the website and roll-out debacle have ignored its achievments.
